Who am I?
I am a mum, wife and in full-time employment, I have been baking with great passion for 4 years since being diagnosed with cancer and kidney failure. It has been truly therapeutic and it brings me so much joy to see the reactions of the people I bake for. My cakes are all about the flavour, and of course they have to be breathtaking too. If you’re looking for something baked from the heart then look no further than Cherry Lou Cakes.
The very start
Cherry Lou Cakes was set up during the lockdown caused by the pandemic in 2020. I am a Christian and a key worker and I wanted to thank and bless those in the NHS, Police, retail, volunteers, etc. who were keeping us safe. By doing the thing I love, I created the most wonderful cakes and treats as a small gesture of thanks. To help pay for ingredients for these ‘blessings’ a few cakes were created for paying customers and it all just spiralled from there…
Is this your full-time job?
No, it’s not. I have a wonderful and exciting job working in the community. My paid work comes solely through recommendation and I am aware that I have to turn many people down. As a mother of two, I just don’t have time to bake for everybody. I want to take my time with every individual project and I want all my cakes to be as fresh as possible. My apologies if my shift work means that I am unavailable to bake for your event.
Where am I based
Cherry Lou Cakes is based in the south east of England near Aldershot, Hampshire
